I went back to Malaya for a week. Departed on 29th May 2009 and arrived at KLIA on the next day. My good friend, Shah, picked me up and we had a breakfast briefly at section 2 Shah Alam. Later on, I visited my 'biras', Syed Azam who took me to Subang Airport to catch 'Firefly' to Kota Bharu.
This entry is about all my nephews/nieces. I'll try to include everyone with their details (this will stop my daughter-Amalin, from asking me everytime... !). The 'Tok Ayah' is actually my father, but i used the term on behalf of my kids. Also, 'Mak' is a term for a 'granny' in our family.
Up to this date, they (my parents) are having 20 grandchildren from their 8 children. Including me, they have 4 boys and 4 girls... well, no longer boys and girls since all, except one, are married. They are Mohd Azam, Mohammad Azizol (me!), Mohd Majdi, Siti Suriana, Siti Nor Aisyah, Mohd Ariff, Siti Norhidayah and Siti Norsa'adah.
I am going to try to list down their children here:
Azam ( + Halimah
-Awis Qoryani (14/07/1991)
-Siti Maisarah (20/09/1992)
-Diyana (12/08/1997)
-Farah Amani (tbc, I think in January 2008)
Azizol + Shawaleeny
-Ainur Amalin (17/04/2000)
-Amirul Akmal (28/02/2003)
-Amirul Azri (20/04/2004)
Majdi + Nooraini
-Yasmin Nabilah (04/12/2004)
-Nurul Bahiyah (03/08/2006)
Siti Suriana + Razali
-Ain Sofia (08/08/1997)
-Mohd Hisyam (19/08/1998)
-Mohd Azra'ie (28/12/2000)
-Mohd Danish (27/08/2004)
-Ain Nabiha (24/09/03)
-Mohd Akmal (10/12/2007)
Siti Nor Aisyah + Wan Rosli
-Wan Mohd Syahli Haikal (21/08/2004)

February 2009 - Heavy snow in London.
|
|
This is the heaviest snow in London in 18 years. We can't go to work as public transports and motorway were closed. Most of the schools in England were closed too including Amalin's, Amirul's and Azri's school. We took this opportunity to enjoy the snow to the fullest.

Conference: Materials in Constructions and Sports.
Venue: Emirates Stadium Conference Hall.
On 19th November 2008, (after the conference of course...) delegates from MADE (Materials and Design Exchange) were given special access to Arsenal player's changing room, directors seat, manager's area on the pitch etc.
Everything was perfect except the tour commenced at about 5pm. My photo did not do justice (not enough flash...) to the view we had and the feeling we experienced to be in massive construction like this. Anyway, I enjoyed the tour and hope you enjoy the photo.
Arsenal - always outnumbered, never outgunned!

Materials and Safety in Product Design Conference - Loughborough
|
|
Left home at 6am and stop at service 2 hours later. Stuck in major accident on M1. At first, one accident northbound (my direction) between junction 21-22. I should exit at junction 23, only 19 miles to go. Later on, there was another accident behind us and I can see police cars, fire engines, ambulances scrambled in opposite direction.. and, later on, another accident in opposite direction itself.
What an irony. I am going for safety conference and there were three accidents... (vehicle safety issue).
Managed to exit into Leicester and used 'back-road' (A6) after 'sesat' a little bit as my satnav (satellite navigator) was trying its best to divert me (again) into M1... which I was trying to avoid.
Finally arrived at lunch break and I flew straight into cafetaria area (had salmon...nice).
I missed the whole morning (lecture) session. Luckily I still had a chanced to see the main presenters (from Jaguar/Land Rover, Royal Textile Institute and from Loughborough Uni itself) who also stucked in the same traffic and their morning sessions were brought forward to afternoon session.Location: Sir Denis Rooke Building, Loughborough University, UK

Snow!
|
|
Location: Hertfordshire - 24.3 miles northbound (from London).
I am told this is the first time UK is having snow in October since 1930s...
Tried to go to work usually via countryside (jalan kampung...) but half-way thru, I lost control of the car at 90 degree corner and hit the roadsign. Luckily it wasn't that hard (20 mph I think...) but it terrified me. So I decided to turn around and use the dual-carriage way instead.
Arrive late at work (9.22am) but with power cut, the management decided to let us go at 10.33am.
Sorry for the low quality. Photos were taken using my 'cabuk' Nokia 6300 before 'low batt' message displayed on screen...
