Winter sunshine

Well, sunshine in winter is unusual although we did have it from time to time. Whenever the sun shine, everyone take their chance to go out and enjoy themselves... including us!

Last Friday, Amalin was invited to recieve the Head Teacher award. A few students from each class (nursery, year 1 - year 6) were selected by their teachers. Each of them merited based on their academic, character and sometimes overall performance.
For Amalin, she received her award for her CREATIVITY. Yes, I cannot stress that better... she is the most creative kid in her year. She draw, paint, building sculptures etc... and everyday after her nursery, dad have to carry all those 'art works' home. Many teachers keep asking whether one of us (dad or mom) is doing something related to art. But its definitely her own creativity as dad doing engineering and mom doing mathematics....
When she was on the stage, there were voices came from a group of older students (year 4-5 or so...) saying more or less,
".... look at that chinese girl. She's so cute..." and they kept talking with their hands moving.
After the ceremony finished, while Amalin was standing outside the building with dad waiting for mom to go, these students kept talking about this 'chinese girl' until they saw Amalin and say,
"... there she is....", and they ran to their classroom.
Did she look like a chinese girl? Well, maybe in their eyes...

Rubber Chem 2004 is one of international conference organised by RAPRA for every 2 years. I was lucky because this year it was held in Birmingham, UK (previous Rubber Chem 2002 was in Brussels, Belgium). I was given a chance to attend and presenting my paper too, which gave me a lot of experience.
