SKF in memory

It was a pinnacle of my career in lubrication system where I finally got into SKF UK to support their lubrication business especially for Industrial Division major customer in chassis lubrication i.e. JCB, Komatsu, Caterpillar etc. It is a very big business in SKF who predominantly known for their bearing. Not many people know that SKF have 5 platforms in total: Bearings, Mechatronics, Lubrications, Seals, Services. Lubrication system is my specialisation and I know very little about bearings LOL (believe me people asked me question about bearing a lot!)

However, after approximately 4 years in this field I decided to return to my main discipline in polymer engineering. To do this I have to move into polymer-based industry and therefore have to leave SKF.

It was a great experience working at SKF with excellent support from my colleagues. Today, 31st May 2008 is my last day at SKF UK and here are some pictures to commemorate my time at this company. To everybody at SKF UK who know me especially Chris Riley, Jaco Harmzen, Neelam Arshad and the rest - thank you all.

Goodbye 2007

Here are some pictures (not previously featured here) to commemorate a tough and hectic year of 2007.

2007 was a year which we work very hard, taking chances, investing time as well as energy to achieve our ambition ;-)

It is painstakingly slow to reach 'success' but we believe 2008 will be a better year for us. Amin. :-D

Gambar-gambar ni diambil menggunakan cameraphone sony erricsson, taken in November but could not find time to upload them (sebab asyik dalam phone tuan dia... hehe). On this ocassion, I was celebrating Shawa's birthday. The excursion though, was sponsored by our friends Izah and Riduan who generously booked us a lunch at Covent Garden and ride on London Eye.

It was a long time since I celebrate Shawa's birthday in this way... thanks again to Izah and Riduan. :-D

Final graduation

Today is my PhD graduation. Yes, I called this my final graduation as I don't think I will continue any academic study beyond this point. A few pictures for family and friends....

Looking back, in year 1997 when I did my first degree, I always wanted to do my masters degree. I was not able to do so straight away due to economic downturn in 1997/98. Hence, the unfulfilling face on BEng photo session... LOL

I eventually managed to do my MSc in 2001 but still look reasonably unhappy (haha.... see photo below). I do remember how I envied graduands wearing PhD robe and 'topi roti canai' during graduation ceremony. At that time, although my masters degree robe was already special and different (well, slightly....), it suddenly felt so ordinary and dull.... and I wish one day I can push my limit and get to wear a PhD robe too.

Today, in 2007, ten years after my first degree... I have achieved my ambition. I didn't realise how big my smile was until I see the photo... :-D :-D :-D

Behind each and every graduands who stand in that hall today, there were families and individuals who provides them support in enduring challenges and difficulties until the end of their study. I am no different to them... my thank goes to my parents and my parents-in-law; who has continuously rendered their support to achieve this. A special thanks goes to a special person - my beloved wife who always stand beside me unconditionally.... :-D

November 2007 memory

Many things had happened in November 2007. Must be the month with the highest number of gathering and 'majlis makan-makan' due to open house after Eidul Fitr.

On 26 November 2007, Hanan and Imad went to Malaysia for good so there was a small 'get together' organised at Alia's house to say goodbye before they fly back. Hanan is one of Amalin's best friend and she will be missed by Amalin. Imad too will be missed by Azri, although they never stop fighting each other for toys... Azri is known to once said ".. I like to play with Imad..."

We wish Hanan & Imad a safe journey to Malaysia and all the best to them. One day may be we will meet again.... ;-)

SALAM AIDILFITRI 2007

(kasi can la orang-orang baru pulak hantar... hehe).

:-D (mummy: yeaaa.. riittee... :P )
